Timothy Patrick Gavin

Timothy Patrick Gavin died peacefully at home in Urbana, Illinois on May 23, 2009. Born in Peoria on June 6, 1955, Tim Gavin grew up in Monmouth, Illinois. He attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Warren High School, where he was active in Future Farmers of America. Tim was a grain and livestock farmer west of Monmouth with his father, Robert G. Gavin. Tim relocated to the Champaign, Illinois area in the 1980's, where he lived and worked until his death. Tim is survived by his children Amy R. (Jason) Vore of Des Moines, Iowa; Robert C. Gavin, also of Des Moines, Iowa; Elizabeth A. Gavin, of Bremen, Georgia; Benjamin P. (Ann) Gavin, of North Augusta, South Carolina; and Kristen Gavin of Florence, South Carolina; their mother and Tim's former wife, Candis Lee Kern, of Martinsville, Virginia and grandchildren Nathan, Bethany, Megan and Jacob Vore, Ayden and Eleina Thompson, Rilynn Denman and Benjamin Gavin II. Tim is also survived by his mother, Jane E. Gavin, his sister Connie Kay Gavin (Robert Rothacker), and aunt Alice (Larry) Enderlin and uncle Donald (Bea) Gavin, along with nieces and many cousins, and his good and true friend, Myrna Buechner. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Imogene Eversmeyer Gavin and his cousin, Stan Gavin. Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception School in Monmouth or the American Heart Association. Services:Private services are planned.
