Tommy E. McClanahan, age 55, passed away at 7:36 a.m., Friday, April 24, 2009, at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. He was born on August 18, 1953 in Wallingford, Kentucky. Tommy is the son of Ernest R. and Sarah Alice Gulley McClanahan. He was reared and educated in the Fleming County, Kentucky. Tommy married Joan Rucker on August 24, 1983 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky, she survives. Tommy worked at Farmland Foods in Monmouth for the past 24 years as a meat cutter. He enjoyed watching wrestling and stock car races on television, working on cars, and most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving Tommy is his wife Joan of Monmouth, one son, Mark Baker of Wataga, Ill., three daughters; Kathy Allard of Aurora, Co., Michelle Roach and Nate of Galesburg, Ill., and Amanda Bank and Eric of Galesburg, Ill.. Three sisters; Betty Dyer and Billy, Ruby Lucas, and Patricia Sanders all of Wallingford, Ky... Also surviving are six grandchildren, a special mother-in-law Betty Rucker and a special sister-in-law Kay Rucker of Gilson, and numerous nephews and one niece. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, his special father-in-law, and one sister. Services:A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2009, at the Maquon Cemetery in Maquon, Ill. No calling hours are planned. Cremation has been accorded. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
