Tyson K. Lybarger

Tyson K. "Ty" Lybarger, age 41, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 2:54 P.M. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, Illinois. He was born on February 11, 1978 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of David K. Lybarger and Rhonda S. Myers. He attended schools in Monmouth, Sherrard, and was a graduate of Warren High School. Tyson later attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg where he took classes for welding. Tyson was previously married to Trisha McMahon. He worked at Alexis Fire Equipment in Alexis, Illinois, Heat and Control in Galesburg, Illinois, and the City of Monmouth. Tyson was currently employed as a welder at HawkeyePedershaab in Mediapolis, Iowa. He enjoyed riding and working on anything with wheels, the outdoors, fishing, and building things. Tyson's first priority was spending time with his son Colton and his dog Louie. He is survived by his mother, Rhonda Myers (Chuck Schlichting) of Davenport, Iowa, his father, David (Rhonda) Lybarger of Monmouth, Illinois, his son, Colton Kent Lybarger of Mason City, Illinois, his brother, Eric (Christi) Lybarger of Burlington, Iowa, and his very special friend, Stacey Williams of Kirkwood, Illinois. Also surviving Ty are many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. A funeral service is planned for 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Ty's family plans visitation from 9:00-11:00 A.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. After the service, cremation will be accorded. Memorials may be left to establish an educational fund for Colton.
