Victor L. Lybarger, age 61 , of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 4:30 pm on August 6, 2009 near Larchland, Illinois. Victor was born on Decembef 15, 1947 in Roseville, Illinois and is the son of Louis C. and Maxine N. Ross Lybarger. Vic was raised and educated in Monmouth where he attended Monmouth Schools and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1966. Victor served in the United States Army where he was a Spec 4 serving in Germany. Victor married Pam Stivers on May 12, 1972 in Galesburg, Ill. Victor first worked at AGAR in Monmouth for a time and then entered service. Upon his return he was employed at Dee Harrison Ford in Monmuth, and then worked with Stivers and Sons Construction in Monmouth. Victor then worked for Wilson Foods, Mariah, Illinois Pork Corp. and then Farmland Foods until his retirement in 2007. Vic enjoyed hunting and fishing and working on streetrods and streetmachines. He was a member of the "Balcony Watchers" car club. His family, friends, and grandchildren were his main interest. He also enjoyed a cold beer. Surviving Vic is his wife, Pam Lybarger of Monmouth, Illinois. One Son Michael (Amy) Lybarger of Galesburg, Illinois. Two daughters Sisser (Shawn) Gibbs of Smithshire, Illinois and Vicki (Grant) Rose of Knoxville, Illinois. There are six grandchildren Allysa, Alex, Addison, Dylan, Fionna, and Emily. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters Barbara (Lee) Brown of Decatur, Illinois; Gary (Connie) Lybarger of Monmouth; Carol (David) Cook of Monmouth; Larry (Margaret) Lybarger of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Donnie (Robin) Lybarger of Monmouth; Janny (Gary) Robbins of Biggsville, Illinois; Judy (Lloyd) Wall of Monmouth; and Dave (Rhonda) Lybarger of Monmouth. He is preceded in his death by his parents and his brother "Hop". Services:A graveside service with military honors and a committal of his ashes will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at the Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery in Monmouth. Cremation has been accorded. No visitation or calling hours are currently planned by his family. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund is established by CBC Summer Hot Rod Camp. A time for the public to greet the familyand have fellowship is planned at the V.F.W. following the service at the cemetery.
