Virgil L. Bigger, age 58, Passed away at 9:25 a.m., Sunday, September 7, 2008, at his residence in Biggsville, Illinois. Virgil was born on June 8, 1950 in Burlington, Iowa. He is the son of Lonnie R. and Betty Jane Rogers Bigger. Virgil was reared and educated in the Henderson county area. He married Nancy Brown on April 27, 1973 in Monmouth, Illinois. Virgil was employed at various business including; Heil Ice Company in Burlington, IA producing ice blocks, he then worked for a time at the Gypsum Plant in Mediapolis, IA. He also worked at Faye's Meat Packing Plant in Abingdon, IL, he drove a semi truck for a time, and most recently he worked as a roofer. Virgil enjoyed building model cars, going to auctions, watching NASCAR races, riding horses. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivng Virgil is his former wife, Nancy Bigger of Mediapolis, Ia, two daughters; Sheila Brockett of Biggsville, and Julie Bigger of Elgin, IL. Two Brothers; Lonnie Bigger Jr., of Biggsville, and Terry Bigger of Gladstone, IL. Two sisters; Mary Bigger of Gladstone and Peggy Bigger of West Burlington, IA. Also surviving are two gandchildren; William Brockett , Sheldan Brockett, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, two brothers; Dino Bigger and Brace Bigger, one sister; Ruth Bigger and one niece; Wendy Bigger. Services:A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 11, 2008, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Biggsville. Inurnment will be in Biggsville Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday morning at Turnbull's in Biggsville. A memorial fund is being established.
