Wanda J. Bearden

Wanda J. Bearden, age 78, of Roseville and formerly of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 1:30 pm at the Roseville Nursing and Rehab in Roseville, Illinois where she was a resident. Wanda was born June 16, 1938 in Macomb, Illinois and is the daughter of Ernest and Dorothy Cunningham Harris. She was raised in Galesburg and attended and graduated from Senior High School in 1956. She was first married to Leon Horath. She later married Donald R. "Sarge" Bearden on February 12, 1977 at the First Christian Church in Monmouth, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2013. Wanda was employed for over thirty years as head of inventory in Supply at Galesburg Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois. She has currently been retired. Wanda was a member and was active in the affairs of the Warren County YMCA. She was also active at Jamieson Community Center in Monmouth. Wanda collected Roosters and Snowmen of all kinds as her hobby. She was very active in the GoldwingRoad Rider Club where she served as secretary. She also was a member of the Mecedes Benz Car Club locally. She is survived by two sons, Kevin (Cindy) Horath of Cantrall, Illinois and Jesse Horath of Roseville, Illinois. She is preceded in her death by her parents and her husband, Donald. Visitation Her family plans to receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial Service A memorial service is planned for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Inurnment will take place at 3:00 PM the day of the service at the Greenbush Cemetery. Cremation is being accorded. A memorial fund is being established for Roseville Rehabilitation Center.
