Warren H. Knox

Warren H. Knox, age 78, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at 7:15 pm on Saturday March 9, 2013 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa. Warren was born on December 12, 1934 in Oquawka, Illinois and is the son of Earl and Mildred B. McOlgan Knox. He was raised in Oquawka where he attended local schools and graduated from the G & O High with the class of 1952. He enlisted in the United States Army on May 28, 1957 and served in Germany during peacetime. He was discharged on May 1, 1959 as a PFC. Warren was a dispensing optician and served many years in Chicago, Illinois. He also traveled extensively in Colorado and other Western states in the Optical Field. Warren loved to play the piano and was an avid Lawrence Welk fan and loved to watch British television. He also loved horses and riding, boating, and being on the river. He is survived by one brother Wendell E. Knox of Ft. Myers, Florida. Preceding Warren are his parents. Services:A graveside service will be Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Oquawka Cemetery in Oquawka, Illinois at 10:30 am. Interment will be in the Oquawka Cemetery.
