Wayne L. Hillman, age 66, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 8:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2008, at his residence. Wayne was born September 29, 1942, in Monmouth, the son of Max W. and Clara Barron Hillman. Wayne was raised in the Monmouth and Galesburg, Illinois, areas, attending schools in both and graduating from Galesburg High School. Wayne served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Wayne married Carolyn Ann Watson on May 31, 1964, in Monmouth. She survives. Wayne began work with his father in Hillman Tree Service. He then was employed five years with Butler Manufacturing in Galesburg. Lastly he began Wayne's Electric in Monmouth until 2002. Wayne was a longtine member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge #61 in Monmouth. He held numerous State and Local offices within the Lodge. He also was a member of the A. Lincoln Lodge AF & AM in Kirkwood, Illinois, Marion B. Fletcher Post 136 American Legion in Monmouth and the Four Square Church in Monmouth. Wayne is survived by his wife Carolyn Hillman of Monmouth, two brothers, Max Hillman, Jr. of Galesburg and Donald Hillman and Linda of Knoxville, Illinois. Also surviving are a number of cousins. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, one son Wayne Donald, three brothers, Herb, Frank and Terry. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment with military honors will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. An Odd Fellow Service will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Waynes family plans to receive friends following the Odd Fellow service at the funeral home Monday evening. A memorial fund is being established for Foursquare Church in Monmouth.
