Wayne E. Lam, Jr., age 55, of Monmouth, passed away at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago on October 9, 2012, surrounded by family and friends, after a 4 month battle with heart complications. He was born on March 25, 1957 in Rushville, Ill., and is the son of Wayne E. and June Louise Anders Lam. He was reared and educated in Smithshire, IL. and graduated from Southern High School in 1975. Wayne married Jacqueline J. Simons on June 2, 1984 in Hampton, IA. Wayne started working at Twomey Company in Smithshire, IL. in 1975 and worked there till present. He took great pride in working for the Twomey family for 37 years. Wayne was an avid NASCAR and St. Louis Cardinals Fan. He enjoyed coaching Allison and watching girls softball. Wayne had a passion for racing and working on gokarts with his son Cody. Wayne is survived by his wife, Jacqueline of Monmouth, one son Cody Lam of Monmouth, one daughter Allison Janusz and Nick of Chicago, Ill., and his Mother June Lam of Smithshire, Ill. Also surviving are two sisters Sherrie Gray and Randy of St. Charles, Ia and Julie McLaughlin and Chuck of Smithshire, Il. He was preceded in death by his father. Services:On Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Fairview Center United Methodist Church in Monmouth his family will be present from 9:00a.m.-11:00 a.m. to receive friends. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the Fairview Center United Methodist Church.
