William M Bersted, 62, of Monmouth formerly of Belvidere, IL passed away June 28, 2013. Bill was born January 16, 1951 in Monmouth, the son of George and Helen Bersted. He graduated from Monmouth High School in 1969 and attended Eureka College and Worsham College of Mortuary Science and later got his degree in Nursing Home management from Washington University in St.Louis, Missouri Bill worked as a nursing home administrator in the Rockford, IL area for over 30 years. He was Past President of the Illinois County Nursing Home Association of Illinois. Bill was a board member of the Boone County Council on Aging and volunteered for various civic and community service organizations in Belvidere, IL. He is survived by three sisters, Debbie (Russell) Stanton, Judy (Steve) Andrews and Nancy Bersted all of Monmouth and a brother, Mark (Laura) Bersted of Olathe, KS in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Services:A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, August 5th at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. A visitation with the family receiving friends will be Monday, August 5th from 10:00-11:00 am immediately preceding the visitation. A memorial fund has been established for the Nancy Bersted Trust.
