William J. 'Pop' Trimble, Sr.

William J. "Pop" Trimble, Sr. age 84, of Keithsburg, Illinois passed away at his residence at 8:32 am on Thursday, April 14, 2016. Bill was born on December 8, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Joseph A. and Kathleen Trimble. He was educated in the Philadelphia area where he graduated from Flourtown High School with the Class of 1949. On September 12, 1953, Bill married Shirley A. Steinmetz in Philadelphia, PA and she preceded him in death on June 27, 2009. Bill proudly served his Country as a Sgt. in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He work in Philadelphia as a "Jack-of-all-Trades, retiring in 2005 and moving to Keithsburg, Illinois. Bill also was a driver with a taxi service. He was know locally, sitting on his front porch and waving at passersby. He loved to play golf at the Swan Creek Golf Course with his family. Bill is survived by three daughters; Sheryl Ann Trimble-Cahoone of Keithsburg, IL, Linda Susan (Joe) Trimble-Watson of Warminster, PA, and Kathy Lynn (Rusty) Trimble-Klick of Keithsburg, IL, three sons; William J. (Ellie) Trimble, Jr. of Monmouth, IL, Brian James (Christa) Trimble of Horsham, PA, and Jeffrey Allen (Richard Mason) Trimble, and two sisters; Elizabeth Moffit and Patricia Compton, both of PA. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley, and son-in-law Steven Cahoone. Memorial Service A private service is planned by his family. Cremation is being accorded.
