Winifred K. "Winnie" Martin

Winifred K. "Winnie" Martin, age 61, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 10:25 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at the Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth. Winifred was born on May 16, 1948, in Monmouth, the daughter of Grandfield and Marian Swan Rickettes. Winnie was raised in Monmouth and Lincoln, Illinois. She graduated from Lincoln High School. Winifred married Albert L. Martin, Jr. on November 15, 1975 in Monmouth. He survives. Winifred was a homemaker and mom. She enjoyed playing bingo and mowing yards and helping out on the paper routes. She was an avid Elvis fan and collected nick-nacks. She enjoyed going to and doing family dinners. Winifred is survived by her husband Albert L. Martin, Jr., of Monmouth, two daughters Ann Martin and Brian Asmns, Sr., and Toni Martin and Donnie of Galesburg and one son Albert L. Martin III of Galesburg, two grandchildren Ashley Martin and Brian Asmus, Jr. two sisters, Carol and Mary, three brothers, Donny, Richard and LeRoy. A number of nieces and nephews. Preceding Winnie in her death are her parents, three sisters and one brother. Services:A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Monmouth. Winnie's family will be present to receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, at Turnbull Funeral Home. A memorial fund is being established.
